About Us

In mid-2020, while in 9th grade, Rayna Silver, a current 10th grader at NSU University School, created JOYFUL MOMENTS to help bring joy to the pediatric patients at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. 

The patients at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital rely on the generosity of organizations like Joyful Moments to brighten a child's hospital stay by assembling Joy Kits for patients seen throughout the hospital.

Joyful Moments is creating two specific types of Joy Kits:

Distraction Joy Kit, which contains

        • One small bottle of bubbles

        • One squish ball

        • 1 Play-Doh

        • One small new board book or activity book

        • One small noisemaker (maraca, cymbal, etc.)

Activity Joy Kit, which contains

        • One coloring book, word search, crossword, or magazine

        • One sheet of stickers

        • One package of crayons or colored pencils

        • One card game

        • One small arts and crafts kit

        • One hot wheels car

Established in 1994, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation provides philanthropic support to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and ensures the ongoing availability of safe, quality, cost-effective, patient- and family-centered care, regardless of one's ability to pay, with the goal of improving the health of the community it serves.
